Experience

During the summer of 2003, I decided to independently analyze company for which I was working. After finding inefficiencies in product delivery and operations, I took it upon myself to create a detailed plan for changing delivery methods and schedules. The employer implemented my recommendations, and the result was vastly improved profitability and customer satisfaction.

As I finished up my sophomore year of college, I transformed a hobby, landscape photography, into a business. I developed extensive product offerings, personally designed and built a company website with an elaborate photo gallery and online store, enlisted a sales team, and marketed my photographs, which were received well in retail outlets from Eastern Long Island to Newport, RI. While working to grow the photography business I received compliments on the website I had created. In fact, I was asked to build sites for a few local companies. More web design business followed, eventually overtaking the photography business in sales and profit. The growth led me to organize a team of freelance designers. We adopted innovative ways to fill a market opening, and have produced state-of-the-art commercial sites at prices far below our competition.

In 2007 also formed a 501c3 public charity and organized a popular golf tournament at one of the most prestigious venues in the United States. This event, which was held from 2008-2010 for the benefit of cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, received both local and national media attention.

As a result of these endeavors, I learned innovative ways to be resourceful, manage costs, stay motivated, and increase productivity. At the same time, my experiences taught me to always be proactive, and plan for the future.
